Danilo Monarca (Univ Tuscia, Management expert)

Mr Monarca is a professor of Agricultural mechanization at the Tuscia University (Italy) and the President the AIIA (Italian Association of Agricultural Engineering) since January 2014.

He teaches Forestry mechanization, Forestry and Environmental Engineering, Agricultural safety and ergonomics. He also published over 260 papers in italian and international reviews and his main research themes are:

 

 

Xavier Pons (Univ Barcelona, SIG expert)

Mr Pons a professor at the UAB and researcher at CREAF. He also is one of the most important experts of GIS in Europe. He is the author of a GIS program, Miramon.

 

 


Inazio Martínez (EFIMED)

 Mr. Martínez de Arano joined EFIMED as Head of Office in June 2013. He was previously Executive President at the Union of Foresters of Southern Europe (USSE), where he was involved in the analysis of forest-related policy developments at European and global levels, and the evaluation of the potential effects of policies and regulations on Mediterranean and South Atlantic forests and forestry. Mr. Martinez has wide experience working in a network organisation and with various stakeholders. He was the coordinator of forest research and a researcher at the Basque Institute for Agricultural Research (NEIKER) as well as a university lecturer in the University of Concepción, Chile. As President of the European Institute for Cultivated Forests (IEFC), he was involved in the establishment of the Atlantic European Regional Office - EFIATLANTIC.

 


David Solano (Centre Tecnològic Forestal de Catalunya, Spain)

 Mr. Solano is International Affairs Director of CTFC.

Abdelhamid Khaldi (INGREF)

Mr Khaldi is the President of International Association for Mediterranean Forests (AIFM) since 2013. He has a rich experience in forest field between research, local development and dissemination. He is the team Leader of Technical Assistance in the Tunisian-Japanese Project of Integrated Management of Forests and a consultant for FAO, GIZ. He also is the author of plethora national and international papers.

 

 

Mhammed Bouhaloua (Agronomy Institute Hassan II, Morocco)

Mr Bouhaloua is a professor in forestry planning at the Agronomics Institute of Hassan II. He has a great experience and field knowledge in forestry assessment and planning.He published articles in international reviews and his main research themes are:

 

 Zaki Ahlafi (independent forestry expert, Morocco)

Mr Ahlafi is independent forestry expert in Morcco. He closely work with the Agronomics Institute of Hassan II and participated to numerous projects on forestry. He worked for the Moroccan National forestry inventory and published numerous articles on forestry.

Gaston Franco (European Parliament)

Mr Franco has been working on Mediterranean forest issues in the European Parliament for several years. Locally, he was Chair of the Mercantour National Park in France from 2005 to 2008 and Chair of the group of forest municipalities in the Alpes-Maritimes department (France) since 2001. At the European Parliament, he was a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and substitute member in the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety. As mentioned above, he also was Chair of the Forestry group of the 'Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development' Intergroup of the European Parliament, and hosted many conferences and exhibitions in relation to forestry issues in Brussels.

 

 

Christophe Besacier (FAO Silva Mediterranea)

Mr Besacier is Specialist for Mediterranean forest issues for the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations. Before that he worked for 9 years at the French ministry of foreign affairs.

Youssef Saadani (DGF Ministry Agriculture Tunisia)

Mr Saadani is the Director General of the Forest Department of the Tunisan Ministry of Agriculture. He has a long in local development and forest sociology. He is part of the FAO and was involved in numerous national and international projects on forestry.

Mr Gené is the Director of the Catalan Wood Institute since 2005 and has a wide knowledge and experience working with the forest industry at a regional, national and UE level. He is involved and collaborates with major programs and initiatives related with innovation and technology.

 


Nicolas Luigi (Pro silva, France)

Mr Luigi is an engineer forester and is the Delegate General of ProSilva. Prosylva is a European federation of foresters who advocate forest management based on natural processes. Mr Luigi co-animates the “Mediterranean” regional group.

Sarah Price (PEFC International)

Sarah Price is Head of Projects & Development at PEFC International in Geneva. Her work focuses on expanding PEFC certification internationally in both forests and markets. Working in the forest sector for over 15 years, Sarah's experience spans the full spectrum: from operational forestry to international forest policy. She has held positions with The Forest Trust and The Forests Dialogue, and has spent years living and working in the forests of North America, South America and Southeast Asia.

Rahhal Boulgoute (ETUR company owner)

Mr Boulgoute is a Moroccan businessman working in, among other sectors, cork and wood products. His production is exported, mainly to Italy, Portugal and Spain.

 

 

Mohamed Benzyane (BETAF Ingeneer)

Mr Benzyane is an independent consultant in forestry in Morocco and worked for the FAO, UNESCO and other governmental bodies.

Rafael Rodríguez (MIRA Project and MoCo Euro-Med cooperation)

Mr Rodríguez has focused, for the last 12 years, his activity in European and Spanish science policy, international scientific relations, knowledge management and management of international scientific cooperation and capacity building projects. He is the coordinator of the Mediterranean Innovation and Research coordination Action (MIRA) and the Monitoring Committee (MoCo) for Euro-Mediterranean cooperation. He has long and successful experiences in European projects.

Dalila Loudyi (Faculty Sci & Tech Mohammedia, former NCP)

Mrs Loudyi was the National Contact Point for FP7 (environment) in Morocco and works at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Mohammedia. She has a great experience in FP7 projects and participated actively in the constitution of MENFRI’s consortium thanks to her important list of science and innovation contacts in Morocco.
